Are you wondering where America went wrong? Do you think the events of the recent decade, or even just 2020, are the sole contributors to our threats to freedom? Do you wonder how everything seemed to go wrong almost overnight?
It’s easy to assume that this is a sudden thing because the alarm bells scream louder and louder by the day, BUT:
The threats to our freedom began long ago, in very deliberately calculated ways. It’s essential to track down their origin, in order to change our future for the better.
Beyond whispered conspiracy theories and shouts of “commie scum” this book, “Freedom is Costly, But Priceless” lays out the true events of where the United States deviated from its strong foundational roots of freedom. It is plainly written and easy to understand, however the concepts in this book are essential to seeing the obstacles we face and what to do about them.
As you read this book, you will also begin to understand:
• Where America jumped off course
• The organizations and people behind its building or destruction
• The value of our constitution and what happened when we strayed from it
• and most importantly – where to focus our efforts into action!
I recommend this to add to your arsenal of freedom knowledge. It is not the only writing worth reading in this area. Yet, everything we learn here gets us closer to our roots, and enables us to grow from these roots instead of stumble into the false America we will become if we stay ignorant to these truths.
You can take a further look at the book here.
A note on the author’s faith perspective: Dave meyers, the author, speaks from the perspective of the Creator centered orientation that inspired the founder’s of this nation. However, it is not overwhelming or preachy, rather it is matter of fact. Any true historian, or anyone who truly cares to look for truth, can go to the source documents of the American founders and discover the simple truth that America was founded as a place to respect religious freedom. Ideally, the founders wanted a safe harbor for all those who believed in a Creator, as well as the Athiests who chose not to believe!
They wanted all American people to have the rights to worship how they pleased, without interference from the government. This was separation of state FROM church, not the deliberate misinterpretation of the first amendment to mean “separation of church and state”, which forces people to stop open practice of their religion in places of governance. Remember, Atheists, if the state can force you to stop praying, they can also force you TO pray. To pray to whomever or whatever they deem fit. This was the EXACT OPPOSITE of the original intent of the founders. They had already experienced that acute persecution first hand, and wanted no one to suffer it.
The original intent of the first amendment, and the entire main reason for America’s founding, was to keep those in power from stifling religious freedom! This is good news for Athiests too!
So, as you read this, keep in mind that if you are a lover of America’s roots and the freedoms you enjoy because of them… they are rooted in religious freedom, and the idea that all Mankind is created equal by a Creator God. You do not have to agree with that sentiment, but it is important to recognize how it motivated and formed our founding documents and structure. Because of these men (and women), you have the RIGHT to disagree with religion itself! According to the our first amendment (and surrounding contexts), no government can force you to practice a religion you do not believe in, nor stop you from practicing a religion or faith you do believe in. How beautiful is that? It’s worth upholding and protecting!
Sadly, as you’ll find over the long years, there have been efforts to destroy this human right and many other rights, by groups set on control. The historical human default is control and hunger for power, not individual freedom. America was an outlier. “The great experiment”.
My hope is this book will give you some much needed insight and inspire you to action! If nothing else, you’ll be much clearer about the truth of our history so your compass for your own personal beliefs is clear of the often written lies of the media around our founding and recent american history.
As always, I encourage you to read the SOURCE documents of our founding, if ever you want to know the TRUTH.
However, this is a nice compliment to the source documents, and gives you some more recent historical perspectives from the 1930s-now as well!
Enjoy!

p.s. What are some of your favorite books or original source documents from America’s founding?
Patrick Kacho says
“The Dying Citizen”, By Victor Davis Hanson. Not a book about our founding exactly, but an in depth look about what is a citizen and the long slow death of America’s Middle Class.

Many of the books by John Jakes, have left me with a better understanding of the building of America. All are well researched and entertaining. Which is probably why they are largely unedited into movies.
I did want to be Tom Sawyer as a kid, I think that’s a healthy influence too.
And two Canadians, Farley Mowat and imported Jack London. I know it’s not what you ask but they really mean alot to me. And this is more of what goes into making ME the individual.
Which is more of what America really means, trying to be better than you can.
I am pretty sure that many people’s source document for the founding of America, is Mel Gibson’s “The Patriot”.
Sorry to say that, but it’s like most people understanding of Biblical tales are from Charlton Hesston movies.
Thanks for having everyone’s back.

Good point! It’s a worthwhile challenge to infuse passion into actual truth and learning at times. We love our entertainment! 🙂

It’s an interesting question where things went wrong and I doubt that it’s as simple as a singular when and what. It has all been a complicated process that has culminated in the last few years. The good news is that we have a strong foundation, so if we can peel away the things that have rotted it, we can get back to the way things were meant to be.
Thanks for your hard work and continuing to be the tip of the spear on this fight. The legacy of liberty is America’s gift not only to future generations, but to the whole world.

You have it right, and thank you.
